Win Player 9 won't play pls

When I try to listen to ShoutCast using windows media player 9. I get a message saying that the file is not supported. I already tried:

http://my isp:8000/ listen tries to launch a player
http://my isp:8000/ launches ShoutCast webpage with streaming details and I have to press listen to lauch a player.

Can pls be played on Win Player 9 at all? If yes, what should I do to achieve this? By the way I am streaming wma files using Winamp. Great Stuff! Thanks Nullsoft!

Hi Bob...

Actually, the brainiacs at WM have blocked out Shoutcast (or mp3) streaming in the newer releases of WMP.

Sucks, but that's what closed architecture like MS is all about! (Plus, they want to promote the use of WMA's digital copyright signing for radio over SC)

On the plus side, I know where you can get some low-cost Windows Media stream hosting

I thought you can get the wm server for free. So what would the point be in getting it hosted?
