Backup file on Relay Server

Quick question - i've searched and not found the answer to this one.

If one of my relay servers has a backup file configured, and that file is 2 mins in duration, and the relay server loses the connection to the source for 30 seconds - what happens?

does the stream cut out of the backup file to the live stream again after 30 seconds, OR does it wait the 2 mins then cut back to live?
