Getting started

Ok.. I know this might seem like a real daft thing to state.. but hey, we all started somewhere.

I've just downloaded the shoutcast software, and installed.. I'm using a home PC to broadcast from, as I don't have a server, and am on a cable service for the internet. Now please excuse my lack of knowledge, as I'm not a computer literate person..

I'm basically trying to get the darn thing working.. and am putting 'localhost' as my address in the 'output configuration' section of the setup for shoutcast.. no idea of the port, but the default doesn't work (8000). I also tried my address, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Am I moronic, or am I totally doing this wrong?

Any help would be appreciated to get this ball rolling.

Cheers..
