mic seems to be on always despite the mixer settings
I have run shoutcast just fine on a Dell Desktop that has a SBLive card in it. However, on my laptop, doing the same settings, the mic seems to be on always. Under recording controls, I only have Stereo Mix and Mic. I select stereo mix. On playback there is no mic setting. Now when I look at the shoutcast input, the mic is always live. the only thing that kills it, is to slide down the mic level on the shoutcast input control setting.
Hitting push to talk does bring the music down, and the mic up, but even in this condition, I never hear the mic...I see the levels but do not hear it. Turning OFF push to talk, the mic levels go down on the recording control as you would suspect, but you still hear the mic during the shoutcast broadcast. ALSO...if you listen on the server side, the music is only heard THRU the mic, not via the MIX...so its as if the MIC is the ONLY thing active, and its all the time. It acts as if I have MIC selected under recording controls and NOT stereo mix, but I DO have STEREO MIX on... This is a Crystal WDM card on a Dell Lattitude C840 laptop. Any help you all can provide would be most cool... |

Make sure you have the latest drivers for you soundcard. Also make sure that the mic setting is activated in the Play Control (in the Play Control: Options > Properties) if all that fails post a screenshot of both your Recording and Playback mixer.

I do have the latest drivers from Dell,
Screen shots attached...im convinced that shoutcast is not talking to this mixer.. no MIC on play controls... this is a laptop, so maybe there is some limitation with it... |
