I don't think anyone said IE was superior, but it is dominant. Except for a lack of features it does browse quite fast.
and for god's sake; were did you read stat's don't lie? Ever see a counter when you downloaded mozilla for the 40th time? Or see a pop up coming up when you install a whole company; f.i. 300 pc's with mozilla?

Don't come up with stats; because if there is anything that is more suitable for misunderstandings then STATISTICS; I sent you a fresh belgium beer. If you like it or not.

it's not. the mailer has been made into a separate package - that's one of the main features of firebird. the mail package is now called thunderbird.

I wasn't a big fan of Netscape although I did start out on the net using it. I just sorta shifted over to IE cause i liked the programming compatability of the thing at the time. But I always hate to see anyone loose out to microsoft if they are at least a half decent company. Even though I am a slave to their products I gotta say i liked Microsoft's IE better on the whole.

yea so what's your point? are you going to say that it is not the most dominent?

If I see more page views at my site with IE and I use IE myself, I am simply going to be more concerned with the product most of my users use.

The reason Netscape is dead has something to do with AOL Time Warner settling its lawsuit against Microsoft. AOL Time Warner just got a new CEO, and this new guy is crap. If only he understood how badly Microsoft screwed them over last millennium...then he would think twice about having the company partner up with Microsoft again, and Netscape would still exist.
