playback skipping
I´ve got a Winamp player 2.81 or something. it runs on a 800 PIII machine and it really skip alot.
When i have more than three IE open or use Winzip, winrar or other unpacking programs that uses ram or some of the CPU power it skips..an sometimes it even skips if i want to listen to a Audio disc... is it possible to allocate more ram to the program or is there a setting i have forgotten to set? plz help |

Try this first:
You can get Winamp to use more buffering to give you better skip protection. To set the bufferlength longer, go into Preferences (Ctrl+P in Winamp) > Output > DirectSound > Buffering. Set a higher buffer length for each buffer. It could also be: You may not have enough memory on your computer to run all those programs. You can also set a higher paging file to use your harddrive as memory when you run out of space on the existing RAM. Consult the help files that are located inside of the Start Menu > Help to set your virtual memory paging file. |
