winamp stops playing when i load a game up

i start music up in winamp on my desktop and go back to my game and it stops playing. Anyone know how i can stop this from happening?

it used to work fine before i reinstalled...

Change the Winamp output plugin to DirectSound. Probably your game is producing audio and both the game and Winamp are trying to compete against the right to play the sound on the soundcard. DirectSound solves this by using DirectX.

Enable DirectSound by going into Preferences (Ctrl+P in Winamp) > Output > DirectSound

Highlight DirectSound, close Winamp down and re-open it. And try to play your game with Winamp playing music.
