I've set up gapless play in Winamp, but will Nero recognize that during a burn?

Already done some searching & checked out the Tech Greatest hits...

The fact that a set of mp3s have small snippets of dead air between them when played in winamp (2.91 x86) only until I configure the buffering settings and check the "Remove the silence at the beginning/end of track" checkbox, means that the gaps still exist, winamp just doesn't allow them anymore, right? Thus, even with checking Nero's 'remove the 2-second silence" box, there will still be those gaps after I've burned the cd, correct?

Thanks in advance.

Correct.

Winamp removes the gaps during playback, this does not alter the original file in any way.

The Nero box 'remove the 2-second silence" refers to an extra gap inserted on the CD to help with navigation on older drives. This gap does not exist in the files themselves. (There will always be a 2 sec gap before the first track, but under normal circumstances this will never get played anyway)

Not too familiar with Nero anymore, but to get rid of any silence that is actually contained in the files themselves you will need to look for somthing like 'kill digital/analogue silence at start/end of file' or 'link tracks' or something like that.

Feurio has some good facilities for dealing with this sort of problem.
