Weezer
Weird, but for some reason I popped in Pinkerton and now I'm hooked again. I've been listening to the Weezer collection for about, 6 hours. Can't stop.
I did this on ratm a few monthes ago. What are your thoughts on Weezer? =w= |

I really only liked one song from them (Which is kind of easy to guess...
)...I can't really listen to anything else from Weezer, though...
A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?" I forgot his name though... |

They did a great song & video once (Buddy Holly). I haven't got any other Weezer material, I could never get past the stupid name (sounds like a comic book). When there's so much music around I'm inclined to go on impulse. It's usually right.

And why does a comic book name suck? They were a bunch of nerds who started a band, what's not to dig, just a bit? At least they didn't get their fame from looking attractive (Britney Spears, N?sync, etc.) |

Weezer lost out again in 2001. It was either them or Murry the Hump. |

Pinkerton is my favorite album from Weezer, too bad Rivers says he wishes they had never done that album.
![]() I haven't really listened to their last two albums much, I'm just not really into rock as much as I used to be. |

The video for Buddy Holly was brilliantly done.
![]() I bought the Green album back in 2001, but still listen to it. It's short, but sweet.

bump* simply because, there is milling of a fifth album.
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/news/0...6.shtml#story3 seems interesting, as despite Maladroits near failure, it's a good album. Like Pinkerton, the public was just too busy listening to Evenescence (Linkin Park Meets the Go-Go's) type music to get a decent album. |

The green album (stupid sodding non-titled albums) wasn't repetitive. There are also some cracking tracks on it. I've met about three people who have given this album the time of day, and when they have, they've realised it's better than you first thought.

Yeah, the Green Album is pretty easily abandoned. It has this strange way of growing on you after time though. I think Crab off it is one of thier best songs.

I always thought that they were pretty average as an indie band, but the fact that they were such geeks made up a few points.
Say it aint so is prolly my fav track. |

The Green Album has no depth. It's like listening to one song for 29 minutes. It's not bad, but their other music seems to have "depth," which is odd, because Weezer isn't deep.
I downloaded a track labeled Weezer and Sonic Youth - Sweater Song live. Can anyone tell me about this track? Was Sonic Youth involved at all? Who is reading that annoying poetry? |
