preference settings not saved - help!

Everytime I restart Winamp after a while my preference setting have disappeared (e.g. skin selection) so I have to configure again and again... What is my mistake? Thanks for your help.

What's your Windows OS?

What version # of Winamp are you using?
Latest public release version = 2.91

Make sure winamp.ini in the program files\winamp dir is not set to read-only.

Another possible reason is that Winamp isn't closing properly, and therefore the settings don't get saved on exit.
Some 3rd-party plugins can be responsible for this behaviour.
Installed any perhaps?
