Winamp crashed when playing newly ripped files

I have just ripped some mp3's using lame 1.3
And whenever i attempt to play them with winamp3 it crashed and burns
It does not matter what bitrate they are, i have tried several
One of them being 192kbps
I also tried ripping using both easy cd-da and CDex
same problem

any hints/tips/advice/miracles ?

i forgot to mention
the files play fine in WMP

Yes, suggestion is uninstall, clear cache, re-install. Winamp is corrupted.

is corruption a common problem with wa3 ?
