loss of audio in shoutcast

Is that what it is?

This sounds awfully like what happened to us when trying a braodcast.

I am not a pro like others in here obviously are but we tried to do a talk show with "musical interludes" whenever we tried to shift onto the microphone the show stopped after around thirty seconds.

It was almost as if the server didnt recognise we were broadcasting and cut us off because of dead air. I have tried to make sense of the FAQ's, i have, really hard! but I am not a real techie and would appreciate simple idiotproof help!

The FAQ's in question dont seem to address this.
