Have I been kicked off or something?

Here's what I get each time I connect nowadays, "<08/25/03@15:52:00> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<08/25/03@15:52:00> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Your server has been permanently banned for providing falsified information.)".

First off, I don't have a clue, nor have I had a clue what I'm doing with this thing, so I seriously doubt that I could've provided any "falsified information", furthermore, I don't know what "information" this thing is talking about. I'm brand new to this thing, I'm not a hacker, I'm just a poor kid trying to play some music for his buddies, so why in the world would I be permantly banned?

I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.

you could have been banned for numerous reasons, providing falsified information falls under pumping your listener count numbers on the server.

you also could have been banned because someone launched a copyright complaint against your station at AOL, check the Terms of Service link at the bottom of shoutcast.com for more information.

Hmm...copyright complaint huh? I'm wondering if you might be right. See the other day I went to the shout cast site to see if my station was listed yet...it wasn't...but while I was there I saw this other station that was playing techno, so I figured why not listen to some techno...that station started playing in my Winamp, and I was getting all the songs...now I would assume that I was just listening to it...but you don't think I could've been broadcasting "their" music do ya??? Could they have got upset at me 'cause they thought I was stealing their music?

and btw, thanks for the info.

Ouchies your possibly rite! That would cause that... Just a simple explanation to nullsoft could work... Don't ask me how to contact them... I haven't seen a single post refering to how to contact them...

I think its one banned allways banned!
