winamp 3 playback corruption...

Hello,

Been a longtime winamp user and now I have run into a problem I can't fix. Tried quite a few things, uninstalled some software, not a lot on the pc, not a ton of games. After rebuilding my system and installing winamp 3 again, I have noticed audio corruption during playback. As soon as I minimize my playlist editor to the desktop, the sound just starts burping and crackling. I tried Media Jukebox 8 and it works fine. I have tried different audio drivers, buffers, etc. DVD audio sounds just fine. It's really a shame cause I like winamp's playlist; it's simple and good for me (when it's working). Anyone have any ideas, I'd appreciate it.

Jon

"burping and crackling" ??

Perhaps skipping? Try applying the official update patch, as I recommended to bigsvenie in this thread, which worked in his case and may also in yours. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Nunzio! I am at work right now so I'll give it a whirl tonight. It's strange, beacause winamp seems to work with miniml pops until I minimize to the desktop where it just becomes totally un-listenable Thanks again for your guidance.

Sandra? Are you referring to SiSoft Sandra?

Anyway, could be, but also read JonnyMac's response to SpidahX in this thread, just in case you need to update/replace your sound drivers.
