opening skins

i just downloaded my first skin, and this window popped up that asked what program i wanted to open the skin in... i realized that i shouldnt have opened it in winamp when winamp tried to play my new skin. i have win 98 and winamp v.1 (old school) can anyone tell me what i have to do to retrieve this skin and make my winamp look as kickass as i know it can?

Winamp 1?

Download the latest version of winamp (2.91). WSZ files are specifically winamp skin files, and winamp recognises them as such. However, it didn't do this in ancient versions, such as the one you probably have.

In other words, get a recent version of winamp, and then when you select "open with winamp", it should load onto your winamp automatically

Winamp 1 was not skinnable, right? Skin files won't work on versions below 2.something.

I just open my skins in Adobe. Its fun just looking at them and not being able to use them. I mean, that's why people make them, right?

That was sarcasm, in case you were wondering
