I know this sounds stupid but how do I make plug ins work?
I downloaded a plug in to make all playback the same volume and I unzipped it into my plug ins folder but I dont know what to do now.

I think I know what you're asking. Restart Winamp. Go to Options/Preferences, then Plug-ins, select the "effects" tab, select the plugin, hit configure.
If you don't want to decrease dynamic range, but want your playback volume to stay the same from track to track, MP3gain's the way to go. Before I found mp3gain I used the Tomass limiter. It isn't jumpy or ineffective like other limiters, though it tends to overemphasize the bass on early recordings. It's easy to use, too. Some of the limiters out there are inscrutable. |
