Any tips UK -> USA skipping
Is there options to tune or other servers that buffer more?
We're seeing skipping even at 96kbps/44 from some deejays. Obviously some other server platforms allow tweaking of both client and server, but im not sure what to do with shoutcast. Any tips on how to better tweak to handle packet loss? its a given with trans-continent broadcasting. It's freebsd boxen p3-450 running 100mbps (dual homed full ds3 circuits at 2% inbound , 25% outbound). Using local sc_trans at 128-192kbps has no problems. Tweaking tips on the (client) and (server) anyone? any ways to stretch the buffering to allow more time for packet loss or is it a udp lossy protocol and thats all there is to it? |
