Go to your Start menu, click on "Run...", type in "winipcfg", and hit Enter.

you are looking at the wrong one. Use the drop down box and select "PPP Adapter" or something like that, hell, go through all of them (not exactly sure what it is for broadband)

Handy little site.
Just in case you're wondering, I just deleted the reply that you accidentally posted as a new thread. |

the old fashioned wayt to find out your ip
open an M$-DOS window, type "netstat -n"(without the ""'s but WITH the space) and hit enter..the ip on the left is yours (the ones in the right side are ip's you're connected with )
tadaaaa

OK, so you go to http://www.whatismyipaddress.com and you say it is a different number, well this number (on whatismyip...) is your DNS number that it uses for the internet and this SHOULD also appear on winipcfg and also will be another number which is your proper IP address

be observant
winipcfg only gives u the ip that the router assigns and netstat -n gives u that ip, but when u go to whatsmyip.com it gives u the modem ip. i connected my computer through the cable modem and i hope i can get it up and working.

If your IP address is dynamic (constantly changing) then it's recommended to run the Shoutcast DSP and the Shoutcast Server on the same machine. This way you can keep the default settings.
sc_serv.ini ; *************************** ; Network configuration ; *************************** DestIP=ANY DSP_SC.INI [SHOUTcast Source] RemoteHost=localhost You should only uses a specific IP# if it is static (always the same). |

DNAS link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport/listen.pls Replace yourDNASip with the ip of the DNAS (SHOUTcast server) and yourDNASport with the DNAS port (default is 8000) Also, machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. See RFC1918 for more information. Scroll down and look for the section titled: 3. Private Address Space How to find your ip address (Part I). How to find your ip address (Part II). Finally, you can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though ) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services. Then, your links would be: DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls |

Wait, for some reason, all those users seem to be the same person. Is it, or are they all different?
