what you hear option and BG music

BG music wont work for me... i think it is due to the fact that i do not have a what you hear option like someother people.

the settings i use

44mhz
soundcard input
-1
-14
-1
and 2000ms

can someone plz tell me why my music doesnt work and why i dont have a what you hear option?
