Winamp doesn't play automatically

If I associate music files (any type) with either RealOne or Windows Media, by clicking on the file (or the link) the program is invoked and it starts playing.
If I associate them with Winamp 2, the program window does appear, but it doesn't play - it is necessary to browse from within Winamp 2 to do that.
Looked around, found no clue, would thank any help.

The filetype is screwed up and probably not sending the proper flags to winamp. Have them reassociate themselves in the options of winamp.

Thanks, drake.
I did that: reassociated files with Winamp and checked in Windows Media and RealOne to see whether there were any left there.
However, it did not work.
In fact, playing any multimedia file by double-clicking seems to be disabled, independent of the program to which they're associated.
Other files do open with double-click.
