Invalid resource request error
Hey there.. anyone seen THIS version of this particular message?
> <10/01/03@19:43:19> [dest: 209.237.238.174] Invalid resource request(/robots.txt) > <10/01/03@19:43:20> [dest: 209.237.238.174] starting stream (UID: (1)[L:1]{A: ia_archiver}(P: 0) I run three different streams of the same programming (3 different bit-rates,) from two different servers, and the incident for the above appeared on each of the three different SHOUTcast logs within a few minutes of each other, and in each case, the IP number with the invalid resource request was only one or two digits off from the previous one. Each time, listeners on each of the streams reported some skipping//re-buffering. So I'll assume this is an automated BOT of some form.... should it be considered dangerous or harmful? In my 2 yrs using SHOUTcast, this is the first time I've seen it. Much thanks in advance.... DJ Andrew triandrew2001@yahoo.com |

how long should it last?
Okay... so I've read the article at the link you gave me.... and I understand what it's up to now....
QUESTION #2: In the process of all this, a stream DOES connect to that IP. How long should it stick around? There's not really someone listening on that stream is there? I have limited upstream bandwidth, and would like to keep it available to actual listeners. Is there a way from either the SHOUTcast plug-in, or the SHOUTcast DNAS config file to stop this from happening? Thanks.. --DJ Andrew |
