why is the titlebar of the PL off center? that kinda bugs me. Other than that, for a 2nd skin, not half bad. idk about the colours. Seems like too many almost. Teh blue and orange are good, but the greys.....i just don't know about them. Esp the light grey in the main. It makes it look like there is A LOT of empty space.

Antoehr sugestion for the PL. Make the corners of the slider rounded to keep with the "round" theme you seem to have going. Same goes with the pos bar and the shuffle button, time area, and min/shade/close buttons.

All in all, it could be good, but there is A LOT going on for such a simple skin. On one hand there are at leat four diferent colours, which could work, but i don't think they do in teh way you have it. Also, you mix up rounding and corners too much. At first look everything seems round, then there are areas which are straight corners, then there are also parts that are just circles. I think the best way to fix that would to like you have the c-buttons, intigrate roundness with corners. Don't have one shape be all round or all corners.

i'll let some others comment before i go on. Don't get discouraged though. Keep @ it.

You've just described it exactly how i want it. Odd, off center, a lot going on but not a ot really going on. Lots of colours, but not colours that look bad together, rounding mixed with edges, but just when you've figured out the theme it's all changed again. I like it like that, it's interesting.

i would agree with dlink in the fact that there is way too much grey in the main. and i would nuke the gray under the cbuttons. its a good start though and this skin has the potential to be excellent

Hurray for individuality, instead of always following the herd. At is about time someone is not scared to skin his way.

All others: Shut up with this don't look good and that I would do different, let this boy make his skin the way he wants it.

Closing remark: The best skins are not discussed here untill they need to be tested for bugs, so what skins are discussed here? Think about that for awhile.

I like it, looks different.
Being a fan of weird contrasts I probably would make the orange parts more 3D, but leave the blue and grey look flat.

Nicely done, Raz. I've always enjoyed minimalist-type skins, and that color combination looks cool.

i think what wildrose-wally ment is that the best skins were the ones that were done with no help but the authors own judgement and i agree for the most part

Nonsense.

Everyone knows the best skins are MY SKINS

Teen Girl Squad was discussed here, and so was Super Mario Bros 2. So I say it works. As for Raz's skin, I like the contrasts and clashes, it's fun.

And what dlinkwit was saying is that that's bullshit. I wonder if Wally even actually checks out the skin threads on this forum. Apart from those skins already mentioned by dlinkwit, especially Fire Elemental, which is shaping up to be one of the coolest skins ever, in my eyes, there are skins by Cleanup, Dude883, dimichan, Atmo, to name just a few more. Those skinners almost always come here for feedback at various stages of skinning, and their skins are superb.

Just because you offer your unfinished work for other people's ideas doesn't mean that you don't have the balls to make a skin the way you want it. It's just that seeing your work through other peoples' eyes often opens up your own.

you want to know what i think? ok!

....i know you said you have it the way you want it but i think the skin has potential to be one of the greater simple skins, so heres what i think you could do(notmust or haveor need to)

--keep it consistant....the skin has alot of rounded edges in just the right places, but as dlinkwit said...some parts are straighter than others.
---the gray bars under the cbuttons should go.
---go yankees
---you could make the darker part of the gradients extend higher for a flat look
---some parts appear as if they are above others...maybe a drop shadow?
---dont let the app buttons extend to the border!(the orange gradients too)...this is a big no-no in my book(but thats just my book, not yours)
---make the blue darker(you must do this to mimic the yankees color)

you can listen to all, some or none....its what the forums are all about(not that you said otherwise)...but im gonna guess you're gonna do something completely opposite and thats perfectly fine.....

and did wally say that this skin sucks because it was posted here?

.........?.

the fact is after a skin gets thru here it may be better LOOKING then it might have been otherwise but it most likely also lost alot of the authors own personal style i mean really i post my own ideas here but other then bugs i dont actually differ much from my own plans other wise the skins not MINE
