Setup: Under Windows '98. Download an audio/x-mpegurl list. After each song is done playing, Winamp will grab focus away from any other application.
Aside from being bad interface design, it's really obnoxious when Winamp gets the last few words I typed in an email and starts executing them as commands.

"bad interface design", I believe you are the obnoxious one
. Why don't you go download another mp3 player?. Ive never heard anyone complain about the interface before. That is an odd complaint.

Read my message again. "Winamp will grab focus away from any other application... Aside from being bad interface design, it's really obnoxious..."
Grabbing focus away from another application *IS* bad user interface design. It's unexpected, and it screws up the input models of other applications. |

this was posted a few days ago, and it has been said that it will be fixed in the next version.

I have version 2.7 and it still grabs the focus whenever a new song starts. This is extremely annoying.
I love this player, but this makes it very difficult to use. |

Sayer -
Do you have any plugins installed (other than the default plugins included with Winamp 2.7)? Please include all non-default input plugins and all general purpose plugins, as well as any visualization and DSP/FX plugins that happen to be selected when this problem occurs. Also, do you normally run Winamp with the MiniBrowser window open? Finally, check the Close Program window when this problem occurs - is there anything running that you don't recognize?
