I never quite understand chages like "on a charge of juvenile delinquency by reason of inducing panic". I mean If I panic because someone is wearing brown trousers in a threatening manner, can I have them arrested? No. So go deal with you stupid fucking panic attacks yourself, don't blame other people for your own moronic self and grow the fuck up.

i have never heard of such paranoid cops in my life!! this is total bullshit.
in other cases though..you can blame tyco for making toy guns look so real.

"Well, got to love you and leave you, need to go get into the shower and rub my hard naked body all over with soapy bubbles, I'll be back later to carry on playing....

It'll take you some time to get over the image of me naked in the shower......mind you don't masturbate to hard thinking about it...."

Have any of you read "1984" by George Orwell? I fear an Orwellian civilization is an increasing reality when individuality is seen as dysfunctional and if someone is afraid of something all efforts must be made to eliminate the cause of that fear. I see the problem with things like this as being a dysfunction of the media, in that a culture of fear and paranoia is being developed in Americans by the media and government. Things like this are the result.

I could understand the fact that the police officer made the boy get on the ground at gunpoint, but when the officer realized that it was a toy, he should have let the boy go. Arresting a little boy because he was playing with a toy gun is complete bullshit. And arresting his mother for trying to keep her son from getting arrested is ever more bullshit.

Ahh yes. This "shit" happens everywhere.

Well let's see. Detriot has how many thousands of murders every year? Across the River Rouge into Windsor, Ontario, there are roughly 5-10. Looks like police do have something to be afraid of in the US, but not so much in Canada. Heck, my home town is the murder/gang capital of Canada, and we STILL only get 5-10 murders every year, and most of them don't even use guns.

So yeah, I don't have to put up with paranoid cops who fear for their lives.

If I have a slight panic attack from discovering a roach crawling on the wall mere inches from my head, do I get the roach arrested, or just squash the bugger?
....
....
....
....
Wait, that's a bad example.

I think Tommy Lee Jones said it best, "A person is reasonable, but people are irrational, panicky and violent" or something like that.

The gun the kid had WAS real looking, and had no "I am phake" orange cap on the muzzle.
Nowadays, kids as young as 10 are jumped into gangs.
White kids bring real and fake guns to school....EVERYDAY!!!
And this kid was WAVING THE DAMN THING AROUND IN PUBLIC!!!!
What the fuck do you think his intetions were?!
He was describing a problem with the weather?
I am glad the cops busted him down like that.
He was running around with a very REAL looking piece, REALLY scaring people.
Black people, white people, green people, the french
You see person with gun not in a police uniform waving it around in public, you too will feel just a bit anxious.
And his ma?
More than likely she got physical with the cops.
If i can't slap a cop, she can't either.
For everyone in here who says that wasn't fair, YOU go out with a REAL looking gun into your respective cities, wave it around like a damn fool, and tell us about the reaction of the cops from your area.
Then come home and turn the news on.
And see tell of someone who got murdered. Shot. For whatever the fuck reason.

ok, call the cops in because a kid is waving a gun, i don't care, but atleast don't mess the kid up for life when you arrest the boy at ten years old.

Children are losing their youth at astounding speed.

Let's see now, the mother was in side getting her hair done, whilst her 9 year old was outside playing with a toy gun......whose to blame?

It's been said that I could start an arguement in an empty room.....I see no reason to disbelieve this.

Sure, it's bad parenting... but the boy should have had his toy taken away, and the mother should have gotten a warning to keep her son from acting like that. I think that arresting the kid was a little extreme. The cops handled it right all the way up until they arrested the kid.

Let me point out a couple things:

1.Saying that since one (very stupid) police officer arrested a ten year old with a fake gun that therefore all Americans are crazy a rather large fault in logic.

2. Yes, we murder here than in Canada, I know that. But that does not mean we are all murderers. Thats like saying all Muslims are insane after we saw what Osama did, but in reality Islam (and its followers) is a religion of peace.

And for many Europeans:
3. We saved you in the World Wars (well, maybe that does show that we are crazy). Show some gratitude. I know thats off the subject.....anywayz....

And for those of you who say something like 'what was a boy doing waving a gun around', (godoncrack you said something along these lines) seriously, he was only ten years old. We all did dumb stuff at that age, give him a break, he probably simply thought it would be cool for some stupid reason. Its not like he was trying to induce panic.

I agree with Horse-Fly:

.....hhhmmmmm.....I seem to remember that the US came into the war very, very late in the day. I seem to remember the US made sure Britain paid for everything(I know you didn't mention this, but I thought I'd get this in before someone did) and finally, WWII was over fifty years and as I hear Americans say an awful lot get over it!

PS - Show some gratitude? Please.....

that's also due to facist delegates of school systems who believe that juvies have nothing better to do than get chained to a desk for about 6 hours and then coming home and doing assignments that requires them to avoid social contact with outside beings.

DAMNIT I HATE MY SCHOOL SYSTEM!!

The education system is a method of rapid socialization. But, it's the only way to effectively do it. The problem IMO is that we are required to go through so much of it. With the growing complexity of modern society, we need to spend the first 1/4 to 1/3 of our lives just adapting to this environment, and become capable of being productive contributors. That sucks. That really sucks. But what can you do?

Yes, marvinbarcelona, that was a good point: stupid of me to say that gratitude thing.

You also proved my point.

With the WWII thing I was just trying to point out that we arent pointless killers who never helped anyone, and that you shouldn't just say, 'oh, americans are (gun) freaks'.

Back to the subject: I was trying (ineffectivly) to point out that not all Americans are crazy policemen or boys with guns and that we aren't all crazy despite the fact that we kill more (Although I must say that Bush has acted crazy since winning the election in 2000).

And i agree that school really has gotten horrible. They are even trying to teach kindergarteners about venn diagrams, which is 1. pointless and 2. stupid and confusing to the kindergarteners. Of course, I am in California which has notoriously bad education, I hope that explains it....
No, Im not in kindergarten, I just heard that from someone else....
