For an mp3 cd player, do you need to finalize the cd to play mp3s?

With relatively modern players, no.

Give some specifics like model numbers, perhaps, and maybe someone can answer your question. And why are you even asking this, why not just try playing an un-finalized mp3 cd in this player, or are you just looking at buying one still? And furthermore, with the use of CD-RW you don't need to worry about any of this crap, because you can always just start over and erase it.

That's the one I have, and just a note of quality of MP3's, it doesnt do 320kbps VBR very well.

Why not just burn a multisession disc and try it?

See what I'm listening too.

With 1 good quality CDRW disc you can put 160 some odd songs on it at a time, erase the disc and put 160 more songs on it. Saves discs.

are you 100% sure you can erase CDRW discs? I have asked computer specialists, and they believe that you cannot erase CDRW's after finalizing!

I am 1000% sure you can erase CDRW and I will bet a dollar to a dime that you can. I have done it after finalizing CDRWS. Your computer specialists are morons. I erase my finalized cdrws all the time.
