Winamp 5 beta 2 kicks butt...

I downloaded it earlier today... and I've been using it since. I love it!! MILLION times better than Winamp 3!! I love the "modern" skin. Reminds me a lot of MusicMatch Jukebox. I think the only thing that winamp needs yet is the volume leveling option. I know there's a plugin to mess with that stuff... but I mean like right click on a track and prepare it to be level - like in MMJB. I think that's the only thing it's missin' so far.

Anyone else use this yet??

They don't want to include a lot of features with Winamp so they leave stuff like that to the plugin programmers. Nullsoft will probably never include volume leveling with Winamp.

You might have noticed the sticky thread with hundreads of views (see above), about the beta 2. And this is the WINAMP forum after all; quite a few of us are using it. For us, though, similarity with MMJB probably not its best feature.
But I for one am glad you like it.

Well I just meant that it could possibly be done automatically. I did have the plug in, and I had to personally ajust the gains myself. In MMJB, you just right click and do "Prepare tracks for volume leveling" and it goes thru and adjusts all your tracks in the media library to the same level.

I prefer winamp, it takes up less resouces, but MMJB rips CDs and has the auto volume leveling, which is helpful for parties.

I perfer Winamp > MMJB tho, don't get me wrong....
