Shuffle bug

I just downloaded 2.91, I'm not sure if this was brought up before, but when I load my custom playlist the first song on the playlist always plays even though the shuffle option is on. So if I close winamp and double click my playlist the first song on the playlist will play regardless whether shuffle is selected or not. Has anyone noticed this? Or is there an option I'm overlooking? I know in Winamp 2.8 this wasn't an issue.

Known issue. Fixed in Winamp 5.0 RC8. (Actually was fixed in Winamp 2.92 and 2.95, but those were never officially released).

i don't believe it's completely fixed in RC8.

in RC8:

if i load a directory, with the shuffle option on, it will always choose the first song. why is this being treated as a different scenario than a playlist?

Can't reproduce.

Just tried this now . . .

Modern skin
Manage Playlist button -> new list (clear playlist)
Turn shuffle on
Main window -> File menu -> Play folder
Loaded a folder containing an album
Track 3 played first, and this was #3 in the playlist

It's happening with me, too...
Pressing "Manage Playlists --> Open Playlist from Media Library --> All Music" then "Play" always plays the first song (3 Doors Down - Kryptonite) whether or not shuffle is on.

Aah, well spotted. Slightly different, but definitely reproduceable.
Although I don't have a playlist called "all music" (as in your example), naturally you can just select any of the playlists listed there, and the first track is always hi-lighted, and always plays first when you click "play" with "shuffle" on.

Doesn't happen if you do it via:
Library -> playlist -> "play" button

sorry... please try it with a classic 2.x skin. i should have mentioned that but it didn't occur to me.

classic skin
random on
remove all (from playlist editor)
add dir (from playlist editor)

I'm using the Modern skin, and it does the same thing.

ok so this is specific to the playlist editor method and not the "file->play folder" command in the main window of the modern skin.
