Here is how I do it on my Linux server. You will need Terminal access to your server. Basically just upload the Shoutcast folder to your server in a directory i.e. called shoutcast. 2 steps after that. You will have to change permissions on sc_serv to:

chmod 754 sc_serv

The 7 will make sc_serv executable, Then setup sc_serv.conf using vi-editor.

now you can go ahead and start the server:

./sc_serv (if you want it to run in the background do ./sc_serv &)
