That program you spoke of, its called "photoshop". Other suitable programs include PSP and GIMP(32). Take in mind, those are professional graphic programs. Most of those skins that you see on this website required hours, days, weeks, and maybe months of hard work and are made by talented artists. Programs like skinamp or whatever only produce tasteless, talentless skins that only take up space on servers. Nobody will download those skins. If you are interested in skinning, please put forth a true effort toward your skin desiging. Because it can be a real payoff in the end knowing that thousands of people use your skin everyday.

Heck, you don't have to expect thousands of people to use your skin to take pride in doing it without a program. (Besides, of course, some kind of bitmap editor)
I've only made one skin so far, and it's not done yet. I'm making it with MS Paint, which is not real advanced but good enough for my purposes. I want to make a decent looking skin that I enjoy using myself. It's getting to that point-- I use it now just to play music, not only to work on it. If I'd made it with a program, I wouldn't care about it all. It'd just be a somewhat mediocre skin. YMMV, as always. --John |

Sucks to skin-making programs.
