Sigh. Router problems. I do NOT know if I even HAVE a router, but...
I'm completely, utterly confused. I don't have a firewall activated, and I'm still getting the well-known "<12/11/03@04:22:37> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 81.133.165.40:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection refused))" error.
I may have a router, because that would seem to be the most logical explanation. I have the firewall option unchecked in the network configuration area... So it's got to be one of the other three choices. Internet Sharing? I don't think so, Kazaa and other such programs run fine on here. NAT? I have NO idea what that means. ISP cache? Gah. I'm confused. And I don't have the foggiest idea what my router is. I was never informed about these so-called "routers" when the broadband guy came by my house. Can anyone help me out? ;( |

Two (or less) easy steps:
1. If you have a firewall, open the necessary port(s). 2. If you have a router, configure it to forward the necessary port(s) to the DNAS machine. Check out the Sticky post titled: SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: DNAS Stuff -> Errors -> Fixing [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx) from the Internet, disable NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out) Are the necessary ports open in your firewall and are they being forwarded to the DNAS machine? Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps. Please read some polite advice. |
