- Try clearing the Internet cache...
MS Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options... > General tab > click 'Delete Files' button under "Temporary Internet Files"
or
Control Panel > Internet Options icon > General tab > click 'Delete Files' button under "Temporary Internet Files"

- Check Winamp's connection settings...
Ctrl+P (for preferences) > Setup > make sure the Internet settings correctly reflect your connection

- No luck? Please post a reply with some specs...
Windows Version?
Memory?
CPU & Speed?
DirectX version? (Start button > Run... > type DXDIAG > click OK > System tag)
Soundcard?
Winamp version?
Did you install any third party Winamp plug-ins?

got a link to the shoutcast server?

do you have a firewall or proxy blocking ports needed for shoutcast streaming? (usually 8000 ish but can be anything.)

It this happing with all SHOUTcast stations?
  • Not all stations broadcast 24/7. If you know the station's website check their schedule.
  • URLs may change from time to time. Are the stations you are having troubles with in your playlist or bookmarks? Try going to SHOUTcast or the Internet Radio section of the Media Library. Can you load the stations from there?
As Rocker asked, are you behind a firewall?
  • Home computer? Try adjusting the firewalls options to allow Winamp to have access
  • Work or school computer? Talk to the System/Network Administrator or Help Desk.
Check for spy/adware. Download and run SpyBot Search & Destroy. Also to be on the safe side run your virus scanner.

So this is no longer a listener question, but a SHOUTcast question?...

SHOUTcast has its own forums. Just scroll down the main forum list. The SC forums are near the middle. Here is a direct link to SHOUTcast Technical Support.

If you've got a problem with SHOUTcast (broadcasting, not listening)
then post a new thread in the Shoutcast Tech forum, not here.
