Can't connect

I've installed the Shoutcast server and everything, yet when trying to go to http://69.47.134.79:8000 you can't connect. I'm on a Linksys router, and I have port forwarding enabled on 8000~8001.

Anyway, here's the event log:
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/win32 v1.9.2 (Nov 25 2002) starting up...
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [main] loaded config from C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\sc_serv.ini
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [main] initializing (usermax:32 portbase:8000)...
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban)
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip)
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [main] opening source socket
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [main] source thread starting
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [main] opening client socket
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [source] listening for connection on port 8001
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [main] Client Stream thread [0] starting
<12/12/03@20:05:43> [main] client main thread starting

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Please connect a source.

Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps.

Hopefully it'll come up later.

Still, please connect a source then examine the DNAS log for errors.

Well I went to that site and it says

69.47.134.79:8000 is Closed

Reason Given: Connection timed out
More about this error: This means that you are most likely behind a firewall, this error esentially says that you and your computer aren't there. You might also check to be sure that your ip is 69.47.134.79, if it is not then you are behind some sort of proxy.

I've set up servers with TeamSpeak before which I had to use port forwarding on n'stuff, and that has worked just fine...

Also, I have RelayPort=8000
RelayServer=ANY

What you need to do is connect a source to the DNAS.

Check out the Sticky post titled:

If the DNAS and source are on the same machine, put localhost into the address box in the SHOUTcast Source (WinAmp).

Do you have anything set up in the relay section of you DNAS?

code:
; RelayPort and RelayServer specify that you want to be a relay server.
; Relay servers act as clients to another server, and rebroadcast.
; Set RelayPort to 0, RelayServer to empty, or just leave these commented
; out to disable relay mode.
; RelayPort=8000
; RelayServer=192.168.1.58

RelayPort=8000
RelayServer=192.168.1.58

I just took the ; out obviously.

Should the relayserver IP be something else though?

Add the ; back in front unless you're trying to relay another already existing server.

Yes, Linksys router and winXP home.

Anyway, it seemds to be working now....I'm connected but can you try connecting to see if you can hear the music playing? My IP is 69.47.134.79

Edit: Ugh now my DNAS says:
<12/12/03@22:25:04> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<12/12/03@22:25:04> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 69.47.134.79:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out))

Are you receiving anymore errors?

------

Link using this format: http://yourIP:yourPORT/listen.pls Replace "yourIP" with your IP (which you can find here) and "yourPORT" your portbase defined by your DNAS (server) config file. The default is 8000.

If you have a dynamic IP, you can get a static name at [url]www.no-ip.com[url].

http://69.47.134.79:8000/listen.pls

And I should have a Dynamic IP, however my router is always connected and thus it basically never changes...

No one can connect if you are getting that error. Reason being, your router is blocking entry through the port. You will need to get into your router configuration and 'forward ports'. Here's how:

(FIRST, go to the start menu, run..., enter "command". In there, enter "ipconfig".. copy down the entry after "IP Address......")

Go into your internet browser and enter "192.168.1.1" (without quotes). Leave the username part empty and in the pass, put "admin". On the top right, hit "advanced". On top, click "forwarding". Enter the following:

Under Ext. Port: 8000 to 8001
Check the TCP box
Enter the last three numbers of your IP address
Check enable.
Save the settings.

Yep, I already have that done.

Edit: Didn't have TCP checked but it is now.
