i chimed up, that thread seemed to be going in a very wrong direction. it should be fairly easy to write a plugin to do this, but i'm not a programmer and i don't know if any hooks or api is available to filter the list based on whatever matches... if not, its surely very easy to do on the server side, then change the URL that the media library fetches from.

bah i'm still steamed about that other thread.
