Shoutcast in FreeBSD - Live Audio Streaming?

Well I have shoutcast running great in freebsd, that was a piece of cake. I can stream mp3s that are localy on my harddrive thats easy too.

I'm attempting to setup a shoutcast server for my local campus's radio station, and want to use a master out from the station into the line in on my soundcard on my FreeBSD server. I've attempted to get darkice to stream the line-in to the shoutcast server... no go it keeps crashing, and when it doesn't nothing comes over the stream.

MuSe can't seem to find my lame libs, no matter what i do (yes it IS installed doh)

the shoutcast trans_freebsd app appears to connect to my server, but nothing comes over the stream.

in my file list I have DSP:/dev/dsp twice. If i put in an mp3 on my harddrive, it streams that just fine.

I can hear my audiosource (which is hooked up to the line in) playing out over my speaker-out port on the soundcard, so I presume the audio source is good.

Where am I going wrong, i've been fooling w/ this for hours now.

Thanks
