Netscape radio in Winamp 5?

I installed Winamp 5 last night and then immediately uninstalled it and went back to Winamp 2.91 because I could not see a way to get Netscape radio in version 5. I could see Spinamp listed in the pulldown menu and it was checked, but Spinamp did not download the current list of stations and there was no box from which to select a station to play.

Is is possible to get the Netscape radio stations in Winamp 5? How do I do this?

I hope I have posted this in the correct forum.

Spinamp I beleive is a knock off of Winamp and is buddled with netscape navigator. However this question may be best suited in the winamp forums. Since (I believe once again) that Spinamp is winamp w/ a dif name and 3/4 of the features missing.

I don't see a way to ask a mod to move it?

I came here because it is streaming audio and the Winamp forum sticky says to post any streaming audio questions here. So I don't know..

I suppose I can ask the developer of the Tara plugin because it is required for Winamp to be able to use Spinamp to play Netscape Radio stations. Real Player is also required to be installed. The bad thing is that if you play Netscape Radio stations by directly downloading Netscape Radio, you get ads. You get no ads when you use the Tara plugin and play the stations in Winamp. It may be that the Tara plugin has not been updated yet to work in Winamp 5.

Your definitely misinformed about SpinAmp... it is a plugin for Winamp. Why would you think it was a knock off of Winamp?

Anyway to answer Mele20, SpinAmp and Tara both work fine in Winamp 5. The only issue I am aware of is with the Media Library... for some reason it opens when you do Alt+P or you click SpinAmp from the Winamp menu. If you can't figure out how to solve the problem you are having then it is best to post your issue in the MusicLivesOnline.com forum.

Thanks to both of you. I did click on Spinamp in Winamp but nothing happened. I will reinstall Winamp 5 see if the problem is still there and if it is I will go over to the musiclivesonline.com forum and ask there.
Thanks for telling me how to contact a mod about moving this. I'm not sure it is needed as probably the best place now that I know Winamp 5 is supposed to have Spinamp and Tara working fine is for me to go to musiclivesonline for help.

Were you using the Winamp Modern skin at the time?
It's a possability that Spinamp creating it's own windowed component, that maybe it can't be skinned using freeform skins.
Just a thought, as I have no idea, but if that is the case, try switching to a classic skin and then running Spinamp.

Yes, I was using the modern skin and that is something to consider. When I download it again, I'll try switching to classic skin and then trying to run Spinamp.

That was the problem. I used classic skin this installation and spinamp popped up immediately with the list of Netscape stations. It remembered my favorites from Winamp 2.91. So, I began playing a station then switched to modern skin. I couldn't see anywhere to click to get Spinamp popup, but the music was still playing. I couldn't see Spinamp listed in any menu either. I clicked all around and finally when I clicked on the media library button up popped the spinamp window. When I first downloaded version 5, I did not click on media library as that is not where Spinamp is in classic skin!

Glad that is solved and glad that I can use Spinamp with the modern skin as I like that skin much better.
