Problem with the Balance??

Hi there, have to set balance to about 66% left side, cause I have a slight hearing problem. However, if I shut it down, and restart the program, the balance slider is in the correct place but the actual balance is back at 50% and I have to move the slider slightly one way then back to 66% to get the balance correct again. Ive been told this is not a bug. Can someone tell me whats goin on with it and how to fix?? Tkanks!

As a workaround, set the balance in windows instead.

start->programs->accessories->entertainment->volume control
