Sound carryover when skipping...

Quick question about a problem I'm having with Winamp 5. I searched through this forum and couldn't find a similar thread, so I apologize if it's already been brought up.

Anyway, when I use the position bar to scan through a track, the music continues for a brief moment before going to the part I moved the position bar to. Can this be turned off?

It also does it when I'm changing tracks, but the crossfader is off.

How are you controlling cross-fade? With the cross-fade button? There are more options in the DirectSound output plug-in.
1. Ctrl+P (for preferences)
2. Plug-ins > Output
3. Fading tab
4. click on the various 'on' fade options and uncheck Enabled

Note: The fade controls in the Modern skins control the 'on end of song' option
