WinAmp 5.0 playlist problem
I have sorted all my albums by artist and year the album was released, when I add my album-folder to the playlist they are not sorted that way, just randomly. How can I fix this? I can not sort by name because then they won't be sorted by year (I have the year in the folder, not in the filename).
And another thing, I do not tag my mp3s, the filenames are like this: Artist - Album - Song# - Title But in the playlist it comes up like this: Artist - Title Wtf is up with that? Hope this made sense :/ Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Sort them by path and file name (click on misc on the playlist.. sort... sort list by path and file name)

And go to preferences... general preferences... titles... and disable "Use advanced title formating when possible"... I don't think that's needed but you can do it anyways....

@Garm: that's how winamp receives the files from windows. unfortunately that's how it is.
only thing is to load them in manually and then save the playlist so you won't need to do it again the next time (the saved playlist will keep the file organisation )as for the title thing - i think Kado is right (from the second post) -daz |

Not sure if you can achieve what you want without id3 tags
(that's assuming these are all mp3's) Can you give an example of your folder structure? eg. D:\Music\Artist\Year\Artist - Album - Song# - Title.mp3 D:\Music\Year\Artist - Album - Song# - Title.mp3 To change the title display in the playlist, go to: Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Titles -> Advanced Title Formatting: To show the filename only, ATF string should be something like: $filepart(%filename%) %filename% would show the full path and filename. Alternatively, you can disable ATF and go to: Prefs -> Plugins -> Input -> MPEG Audio Decoder -> config: Title/Tags tab Uncheck: Use ID3 v1/v2 tags so it will then use %7 default instead (ie. filename) Then, depending on folder structure and/or which method you choose, you should then be able to go to: Playlist -> Misc -> sort and sort by one of: title / filename / path & filename to achieve your goal (I'm guessing at possibly: path & filename) Of course, if id3 tags were filled in, including "year" field, then there wouldn't be any title formatting / sorting problems. |
