Charging for the Pro version of Winamp5 is the start of the slippery slope (we are talking about AOL here) of getting turning Winamp into a paid-for app, what next? Making the next version of Shoutcast server paid-for? Making the first stable version of Nullsoft Video sourcing paid-for?
However I understand that Nullsoft would need the mnoey whoever they're owned by, the coders need to eat

and had the moment it seems that the general ethos of Nullsoft is to keep everything free for everyone, empower the people by making the means to broadcast over the Internet to all, but is that the general ethos of AOLTimeWarner?!
Already in another post elsewhere there is a quote of someone running the yp listings server saying that they have to follow AOLTimeWarner's 'editorial policy' currently to eliminate adware/spyware, but if that extends further? (and is enforced) how long will it be until the major corporations (and yes I have argued about getting some of those involved and streaming in NSV) are the only ones who can stream TV or Radio (like Real for example)?
