Winamp (AKA Winamp 5) and Winamp3 are two different media players.
Winamp = Winamp 0.x ~ Winamp 1.x ~ Winamp 2.x ~ Winamp 5.x
Winamp3 = Winamp3 ~ Wasabi.Player
It was Winamp3 that had the multiple playlist sidecar feature.

You can have multiple playlists in the playlist section of the Media Library.
In the playlist editor you can switch between those playlists by...
click playlist button (right click if using a classic skin) > select 'Open playlists from Media Library'

Forum member DrO is working on a playlist alternative called Extended Playlist and one of the features will be a second plane (sidecar) for multi-playlists like in Winamp3. It is still a work in progress, but it looks very promising.

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

Is there a little Winamp icon in the System tray? If there is, that is the Winamp Agent and can be turned off in the prefernces.

@Juzn

Please provide some system specs...

- Windows Version?
- CPU & Speed?
- Memory/RAM?
- DirectX version? (Start button > Run... > type DXDIAG > click OK > System tag)
- Soundcard?
- Videocard?
- Any changes to your system prior to the problem, such as installing new software?
- Does this happen after certain file types? (MP3, WMA, MIDI, AVI, NSV, CDs and so on)
- Do you have Winamp 5 Lite, Full or Pro?
- Did you install any third party Winamp plug-ins? -
