Winamp 5 Error...

ok, i've seached the forums for this problems solution for about an hour with no solution.

I know a lot of people have gotten this message -

waveOut Output v2.0.2a error
"Unsupported PCM format (44100Hz, 16 bits per sample, 2 channels) Please change format settings in input plug-in configuration or change output device in wakeOut plug-in configuration"

ok, what does this mean and how do I fix it?

My outputs are set to waveOut
Im running windows XP
all my sound drivers are updated
no skins have been downloaded
all my files are mp3 format
winamp 3 ran fine, i updated and now everythings outta wack

someone please help before my head explodes!

Switch to Direct Sound output (the default on Win2k/XP).
WaveOut is not recommended on Win2k/XP.

If the problem persists with out_ds
Then go to:
Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Plugins -> Output -> DirectSound -> config:
Change the Device from Primary Sound Driver to match the name of your sound card/chip driver.
Depending on your sound device, you may also need to checkmark "allow hardware acceleration".
