search the forums on top of the page - right upper side fill in Heatradio - results show as the nr 1 topic basic guide to shoutcasting.

right ok i think i have done it but what to ppl type in so they can listen to my station my is it www.my ip.??

Link using this format: http://yourIP:yourPORT/listen.pls

Replace "yourIP" with your IP (which you can find here) and "yourPORT" your portbase defined by your DNAS (server) config file. The default is 8000.

If you have a dynamic IP, you can get a static name at www.no-ip.com.

ok sorry to be a pain my m8 is tryin to listen to my station so how does he listen to me?? does he go on to his address bar and type in http://172.186.30.193:8000/ ?

The "/listen.pls" tag tells the browser to open the stream directly in WinAmp instead of opening the SHOUTcast station status page.

ok ill give that a go oh yeah 1 more question then soz about this.........can i connect my decks to my pc through the line in and if so how do i play it through winamp?

Definitely! Connect you mixer into your line in, go into the DJ plugin in WinAmp, go to the input tab.

In the 'Input Device' drop down box, select 'soundcard input'. Then go to the button that says "Mixers" and select line in.

I hope that's descriptive enough. If you have any troubles, post back.

obugger me again right i gave my m8 the address but he carnt connect to my station can u try again to see if u can he sed it says sever down?

Are you getting any errors in the server log?

Open the server and look at the window.

If you've minimized it and it hid itself, look in the task bar on the bottom right for a white icon that looks kind of like a mushroom cloud.

This differs depending on what operating system you're on.

ok now i must be brain dead, where do i look do i look in winamp or do i type in my station addrees and look there to open the server?

It will be in the task bar of your operating system. For example, it will be on the bottom left if you have WinAmp. No need to open anything to find it.
