Dulles Airport Security

I'd like to bring you the US version of this story, but I can't find it being reported.

It seems that airport security in the US is not as tight as first thought, well for planes flying out of the US that is.

Man charged over bullets on plane

No flights were disrupted
A 45-year-old Sudanese man arrested at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday has been charged with carrying five bullets on a Virgin Atlantic flight from Washington DC.

Alwasila Alhibr Wassila will appear at Bow Street magistrates court on Friday.

He faces two charges under the Firearms Act of possessing ammunition and one of carrying dangerous articles on a plane under the Aviation and Security Act.

Investigations into security at Heathrow and Dulles Airport have been launched on both sides of the Atlantic in the wake of the incident.

Virgin Atlantic statement

Virgin Atlantic said in a statement the aircraft had not been threatened

"The safety and welfare of our passengers and crew is Virgin Atlantic's top priority," the statement said.

"Screening of passengers at Washington Dulles airport is the responsibility of the Transportation Security Administration."

From the BBC website

It's been said that I could start an arguement in an empty room.....I see no reason to disbelieve this.
