Strange Error Message on start

I keep getting the message, "Cannot load MEDIAKEY.VXD !" everytime i sart winamp.

This started after I installed the "Multimedia Keyboard Control" plugin. I uninstalled the plugin after getting the error message, and the message still occurs on start up of winamp.

Any suggestions? thx!

Did you make sure the relevant DLL file is no longer present in the Winamp\Plugins folder?

at a guess, something like gen_mediakey.dll or similar?

Thanks!

I deleted the files gen_hotkeys.dll and gen_mmk.dll and it works fine.

Well, actually, gen_hotkeys.dll is included in the default winamp setup.
It's the Global Hotkeys plugin (Prefs -> Global Hotkeys).

So it looks like all you needed to delete was gen_mmk.dll (MultiMedia Keyboard plugin)

I've attached Global Hotkeys just incase you ever need it again...

File Type: zip gen_hotkeys.zip (7.4 KB, 108 views)
