Oh no, no more thread about what type of music you like, I already know what type of music most of you like
......and lemme tell ya that don't please me at all.I was just wondering to know what type of music the people living around you like.....Actually, I got the idea from scor’s thread Is it important to you for people to like “your music” .My question is, do people; specially people living close to you ; like your kind of music ?If not what type of music do they prefer? Feel free to talk bout your friends, bf/gf, husband /wife even your parents or children or just anyone whom you give importance….what sorta music do they like? Do they like your type of music or is it something different? And if its really different….does it somehow create any problem for you? Ya, I know most of you don’t think its important for people to like your music but its not about people only......... its about the people you give importance so,it may be some sort of difficult if their taste doesn’t match with you. Isn’t it? So do you face any problem because of it? Lemme start here……the people around me don’t like my type of music at all. My parents don’t listen to English songs that much...they like Indian classics or Bengali songs.I’ve a sister of 9th grade who thinks listening to music is the worst thing in this world (and probably playing computer/TV games is the best thing in the world lol) and my bf who likes BSB but actually into heavy metal. And finally my friends……..those girls who used to shout about boy-bands more than me….. now-a-days they are moving to Linkin Park and so on .....Shame shame I guess they have never loved those boy-bands And I don’t face much problem because of this ...... only my bf teases me continuously and my mom is completely sick of it. She hardly comes to my room partly because I play music all the time which cause her a headache and mostly because she can’t stand the view of my room with poster of boy-bands all over BTW, I already know that cylob’s wife likes boy-bands( ) but want to know more and want to know about everyone.....

My dad and my brother have excellent taste. We get on fine. Quite a few of my friends have excellent taste. The rest like rap more than anything else. Eh, doesn't bother me that much, i turn mine up and drown it out.

Hmmm... my parents are Classic Rock and Country (blech) fans. All my friends have different tastes in music ranging from hardcore Death Metal to Rap, but most of us can comprimise at some Alt Rock. My sister is a punk fan, if you consider punk to be Good Charlotte, (replace with current popular emo band.)
Me? Mostly Hard Rock and Punk. |

The real issue over here is that people have an inferiority complex with regard to their music.
The sickest part of it is that the people go about bashing all western bands, realizing little that they actually steal/plagiarize their music

You know, I just had a Linkin Park song come on and I had a sudden thought that explains why Boyband fans usually progress towards rock through Nu Metal bands like Linkin Park...
Linkin Park, the boy bands of Rock.

I don't differentiate between Linkin Park and Westlife. Both specialise in pointless noise.

I hate Linkin Park as much as I hate rock
And how could you say that....Westlife or any other boy-bands are far far far better than Linkin Park. All pop music is good music but all good music isn't pop music ![]() Wanna know more about pop music or my boy-bands? Westlife / Backstreet Boys / Savage Garden / NSync / Michael Learns to Rock |

There are perhaps three people at work who I can talk about music with, well three that make any sense and have any taste, the rest would either be able to talk to apola for hours, only listen to music that allows them to dress like they were in The Matrix (sad, very sad) or haven't listened to any music with a release date beyond 1990-1994.
Even my own brother, younger than me by 2 years, hasn't anything in his feeble cd collection beyonf those dates. It feels mighty cold being the only one still actively listening to music. It's been said that I could start an arguement in an empty room.....I see no reason to disbelieve this. |

I mainly like many sub-genres of general rock, such as heavy metal, punk rock, alt. rock and prog. rock, although I like some hiphop (Like Jurassic 5 and The Nextmen) as well as anime/J-pop. My dad likes most any type of rock music I like, and then some...My younger cousin Justin likes the same music as I, my older cousin is the same, although he likes alot of punk rock, my step-mom is a bit more on the country side, (most) of my friends like rock music too, and I really don't know what my mom listens too...
I get along with just about anyone, although I usually step out of the conversation if it turns into any positive talk about rap...

http://www.krradio.com about explains it.
![]() My dad listens to Classic Rock, and some Grunge. He does listen to the radio, of newer music though. He's also a big fan of Kid Rock, oddly. I'm a big fan of all different kinds of rock, played by the radio, MTV, whatever, I don't care. I don't listen to the radio, or watch MTV, or look at the charts, so I really don't know about anything like that, or care much. It's music, I like it. It sucks being one of the only people in my city that doesn't have only one genre to listen to. Most people here tune in to one, nothing else. EIther that, or they like rap. No pop fans here, thank god. LMAO @ Nimelennar Scotty Doesn't Know |

some of my workmate's have quite similar tastes in music to me, as does one of my friends. my flatmates tend to listen to quite different (although not that different) types of music.

I never really liked Linkin Park at all during "Hybrid Theory", but when "Meteora" was released, it had some stuff that I actually liked...
