IP and firewall: definitive solution

Hey Guys,
I spent the whole day looking for a solution to

<02/01/03@16:23:12> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<02/01/03@16:23:12> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 125.352.27.2:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection refused))

...but none of the threads worked for me.

I know that nobody is paid here and everyone is willing to cooperate telling what they know, but please understand that some of us do not know a thing about IPs, firewall or ICS, you only ask if we have a router or a firewall, but, how can we know that? Personally I've tried checking in my Control Panel but I didn't find a thing. I followed all the instructions in multiple threads with no success. I hope that my case could be useful to some of you if a moderator or an experienced broadcaster can give me a piece of advice.

Thanks in advance.

I'm working on a Windows 98 PC, I don't share my connection with any other computer, I have a cable connection and I don't use or run any firewall programs like McAfee Antivirus or such (not as far as I know: how could I know that?). When I check my IP address runing 'winipcfg' there are two options:

1. PPP Adapter: IP address 0.0.0.0
2. 100/10Mbps Fast Ethernet PCI-Bus Adapter: IP 125.352.27.2

and when I check it on the website http://www.showmyip.com/
it displays a different one.

When I check the status of my Cable-modem I get a different IP address from the others

When I run the SHOUTcast plugin in Winamp I enter the one that I got running 'winipcfg' (this was the only one that worked properly) but as I am supposely broadcasting the sc_serv.exe program displays the NAK error above.

1. Is the ICS tool (I don't know what the hell this is for, despite I read a lot about it) required even for computers that don't share their connections?

2. How do I get a port number that could work for me?

Ok, so here is the problem of many of us and we cannot get a lot of the terms that you use. Could you please be patient and give a detailed explanation to solve this problem?

Thanks again.

Regards.
