Otis Redding's version of "Satifation" is very satisfying. For some reason, I also love The Bangles "Hazy Shade Of Winter." Some other goodies:

There's an AWFUL cover of Comfortably Numb in the charts at the moment. I'm no particular fan of the original, but this version is just plain shit.

Not sure if this counts as a cover version as the song is so much a standard, I suppose the original would be by Leadbelly.
Anyway, just listened to 'Kelly Joe Phelps - Goodnight Irene', holds on to the sense of longing in the words, instead of the bouncy little tune it's been turned into. Good guitar too. UJ |
