winamp sometimes run too fast

when i run a song in winamp it sometimes jumps 1 second forward 10-15 times randomly in the song... how do i get rid of this jump?

I have this problem too. At first it just skipped a couple of seconds now and then, but now it only plays in fast forward.

Make sure you have the latest Winamp (5.04 at the time of this reply).

From the Common Issues section of the Troubleshooters Sticky....

No sound, skippy/choppy/crackly playback, high VM usage, etc.

If that does not fix the speed problem...

Are you using a DSP/Effect plug-in?...
1. Winamp > Ctrl+P
2. Plug-ins > DSP/Effect
3. Select (none)

Do you have any other third party plug-ins?

Otherwise, a speed playback problem is usually a sign of outdated or corrupted sound drivers. If you have a soundcard go the manufacturer's website for updates. If you have an on board sound chip, go to the website of your computer provider or the manufacturer of the mother board.
