How to set up a shoutcast server on my LAN
I want to be able to have a server so i can use the speaker systems on all the PC's on my network. But i'm a little lost.
When i hit "connect" under the output tab, it just says "connecting" for a sec, and then it goes back to "not connected". Any idea what's up? |

In the address box, enter the LAN IP for the computer that is hosting the DNAS (SHOUTcast server). If it's on the same machine, enter localhost.
If you plan on only broadcasting in your LAN, make the DNAS private so you don't have to deal with error messages. -- Michael |

anyway, here's my new question, the server is on the same PC that is playing the MP3's in winamp, but there's a delay inbetween both computers. Anyway to eliminate that delay? |

Unfortunately, no. Not even for LAN broadcasting. I believe that you can shorten it if you use the older version of the DSP.
Check out the Sticky post titled: SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: General SHOUTcast Information -> Where can I download the old version of SHOUTcast DSP? Alternatively, check out Sawg Stuff. -- Michael |
