Tank Girl
I'm trying to do some drawings of the lovable sex-crazy kangaroo, Booga, from Tank Girl, but I don't have much reference. I have gone to Google with little results.
If anybody has the comics, do you mind scanning some of the better pictures of Booga for me? I was also wondering -- Are they good comics in themselves? I only took a quick read through a friend's copy (I can't find said friend, she's floating around school somewhere ) and so I don't know a whole lot about it. Is it worth saving up for and getting?Anyways I just really liked the character Booga, and want to do my own version of him... So I need reference. Here's what I have so far: "I hate making the phucking tea." Heehee. just as feathery as ever |

The comics are well worth it. Make sure you get the ones by creators Alan Martin and Jaimie Hewlett. There were a few Tank Girl releases by other creative teams when, at the height of Tanks Girl's popularity, they sold permission to use the character to an American comic company. You can find the original stories reprinted in two graphic novels as seen here.
http://www.y2krunch.com/tankgirl/ is Alan Martin's Tank Girl site and is great fun, even though it was made way after she was popular (from the site's counter: "This site has praised TANK GIRL for 1417 days, even though the fanfare kinda ended 2909 days ago!"). I also enjoyed the movie quite a bit as some kooky, quirky entertainment, though most people hated the film. |

Thanks, Sandman. This is the full drawing I've done, a few angles of Booga. I hadn't got any more reference, just used my imagination.

Nice one, WR. I like the fact that you captured the character's style without aping the style of the artist.
